HOW DO I GET STARTED

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

It’s easy, just follow these steps …

1 – Check the schedule, choose some races, and mark your calendar

2 – For Michigan races, register online, for other areas contact the SCCA Region F&C Chief directly

3 – Gather up some basic supplies:

- Appropriate warm or cool outerwear (white colors are preferred)

- Don’t forget your rain suit

- Hat, Sunglasses and Sunscreen

- Comfortable shoes (sturdy weatherproof shoes or boots are best)

- Gloves (orange color is preferred, but any type/color will do for starters)

- Backpack to carry all of your supplies, munchies, liquids, etc.

4 – Show up at the track approximately 1½ hours before the start of the first race
- Find the Volunteer Registration area and ask for the F&C group
- Bring your SCCA license, if you have one
(if not, don’t worry about it, we’ll issue you a temporary one)

5 – Be prepared for the adrenaline rush!

We will provide your orientation, formal & on-track training* and mentoring, and even a FREE lunch!
(Heck, we’ll even throw in free pop and beer after the racing is done for the day, and sometimes dinner too!)

Don’t live in Michigan, but still want to get involved in corner working?

The MTM website has a number of links to other F&C organizations or you can contact your regional SCCA chapter. Go to www.SCCA.org and click on the ‘FIND YOUR REGION’ button.

Please note that you must be at least 18 years of age to participate (or 16 with a guardian’s signed permission)

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact our Training Coordinator.

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS!

* Proper training is essential to be able to safely work races.
